We’re excited to share how you can transform your paddle board with e-assist motors. Motorized or e-assist paddle boards are an incredible way to get more speed through challenging conditions, and when going longer distances. 

We’ve partnered with Bixpy, an industry-recognized San Diego-based company that sells electric paddle board motor kits.

Bixpy has two options for our ISLE paddle boards. The first is a motor that gets added to the fin box instead of the fin. It can be added to any of our paddle boards or kayaks and has speeds up to 5mph. The second kit is a pool steering system for our paddle boards with a motor mount. 

Why Add E-Assist to Your Paddle Board?

Adding e-assist to your paddle board is great for beginners & experienced paddle boarders. For beginners, the motors help build speed with less physical effort, and you can go farther when exploring. For experienced paddle boarders, paddle board propulsion systems help when navigating tricky conditions or when your board is loaded with gear when touring. 

• Increased Speed: E-assist motors allow you to paddle at faster speeds, covering more distance in less time
• Reduced Effort: With e-assist, paddling becomes less strenuous. It’s easier to navigate through challenging conditions such as wind or currents. This is also great when you’re paddling with a second person on your board, or if you’re touring and there’s additional gear and weight on your board

Which e-assist motor is best for my paddle board?

When looking for motorized SUP boards, there are 2 options. You can buy a SUP electric conversion kit or a paddle board with a built-in motor.

At ISLE, we’re passionate about electric paddle board conversions. With the e-assist motor kits, you can e-assist or remove the motor and paddle normally.

For our 2 Bixby kits, both have the following features:

• Runs for approximately 80 minutes at top speed and up to 12 hours at slower speeds
• Ultralight setup (weighs just 10 lb including battery and motor)
• Quick-release motor can be removed with just one bolt
• Warp speed feature allows you to reach max speed with a double click
• Operates via wireless Bluetooth remote control with 12 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds
• Waterproof and dirt-proof with corrosion-resistant components and aluminum body
• Outboard Power Pack and remote control float in case of accidental slippage

All our Paddle Boards work with Bixby’s Fin Motor. The ISLE/Bixpy K-1 Outboard Kit includes everything you need to motorize your ISLE paddle board. The motor kit is installed in the fin box of your board with the Fin Mount adapter. 

• You can get up to 5 mph (depending on the paddle board model and weight) 
• This kit requires a paddle to steer 

The second option is the Pool Steering Motor Kit. It’s designed to be compatible with our paddle boards with a motor mount, such as our Switch Pro. This system is designed with the motor to be completely raised out of the water to avoid damage when the motor is not in use. 

• It includes steering capability (no paddle needed)
• 270 degrees of rotational trim for a relaxing experience
