Q: What inspired you to become an ISLE ambassador?

I love ISLE's mission statement: Better in Balance. Balance between body and mind is so important to our health. I feel like SUP yoga adds another healing element to that balance.

Q: Share your most unforgettable adventure?

There are too many to share. Prior to my injury, I used to travel a lot. Paddling in different locations like Lake Tahoe, Mo’orea, the Grand Canyon, Tandem SUP Surfing with my husband at his home spots on Maui. These trips all hold a special place in my heart.

Q: How does being out on the water impact you?

In 2022 I sustained a TBI/Whiplash injury that has left me with multiple challenges. One of the hardest symptoms is near constant vertigo. While getting back on the water was initially difficult, it has also been healing, and brought a sense of purpose and joy back into my life.

Q: Are there any new hobbies, skills, or goals you're currently pursuing?

When I am not getting back on the water, I have found yoga in my backyard, hiking and walking to be enjoyable. I am back to working at MiraCosta College as a yoga professor and find it rewarding sharing my love of yoga with my students.

Q: In what ways do you contribute to your community and the environment?

I created NamasteSUPa free global stand up paddle community to bring more awareness to stand up paddle yoga and to bring people together.
