INTRODUCING OUR PARTNER: SEATREES

As a way to give back to the oceans we paddle on, we’ve partnered with SeaTrees, by non-profit Sustainable Surf. As an ocean-focused platform, SeaTrees works with communities around the world to plant and protect ‘blue-carbon’ coastal ecosystems such as: mangrove and kelp forests, seagrass, ridge-to-reef watersheds, and coral reefs.

 

Impact To Date

We strongly believe in the power of giving back, and most importantly, working to support the sustainable efforts that work to protect and rebuild our oceans. A portion of our sales goes directly to SeaTrees to help with the following projects.

 

 

Our contribution efforts will work toward planting mangrove SeaTrees in the Biak Region of West Papua in Indonesia, specifically on a small island called Padaido. Every 10 mangrove trees planted:

 

Our contribution efforts will also work to support SeaTrees and the Bay Foundation to restore kelp off the Palos Verde Peninsula. This giant kelp reforestation project is one the largest and most successful kelp restoration projects globally, and the techniques employed are being replicated around the world. More than 50,000 sq ft of kelp has been restored so far, and currently, more kelp is being restored.
